HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter Everyone! I just got home from my Mom's where we had a wonderful lunch - ham, green bean casserole, and my personal favorite, Swedish Mashed Potatoes, just to name a few. It is always good to spend time with family, especially this year as my parents just got home from a 2-week trip to Africa where they went on safari. They had lots of neat pictures and stories to share! It almost made me want to go to Africa (except for the flight across the ocean part!) They were soooo close to some of the animals, it was truly amazing! In any event, they had lots of fun and it was a trip I am sure they won't soon forget. After watching their slides, we turned on the NCAA basketball tourney where Kelly and I are bringing up the rear in our family pool! That's ok - when UNC whens out we will go from the back to the top and finish 1-2! (Hopefully, I will be #1)! Duke is out, so that is really all I have left to root for.

Well, it's back to work tomorrow - ugh! This was a quick weekend. Signing off for now - take care and peace out!

Monday, Monday

Well, it's Monday and I'm home from work. Long story short, I had a bout of insomnia last night and got practically no sleep. I tried laying on the couch, watching TV, and reading but nothing worked. Tonight I'm taking some Tylenol PM or Benedryl to make sure I get some Z's. I thought about going into work late, but just decided to stay home and rest. I think Deb was a bit jealous!

In case you didn't notice, I changed the photo of Deb and I on the home page. I hated that picture! I all ready know I'm fat and I didn't care for how that picture showed my shirt stuck in between my fat rolls! The new pic is of us standing in front of The Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas. It's not centered and my head looks huge, but I still like it better than the other one. One of these days we'll decide on one we both like! The snow outside is starting to melt and get dirty. I hate that. This is Ohio, so we may be in for more snow before it's all over with.

I've posted a couple new pictures: one of Benjamin and Stella and then one of Stella by herself. As you can see, she is a true Yankees fan! Opening Day is March 31st and I can't wait! GO YANKEES!

Snowed In!!

Well. the blizzard of 2008 has hit and we are snowed in! I don't know how much snow has fallen, but there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. We have shoveled the driveway twice and it needs it again. The poor dogs can barely get through the yard. We have spent the day playing Scrabble and Dominos, napping, and playing Poppit on the computer (when we aren't shoveling). Poor Kelly is bored out of her mind! Duke and North Carolina play later, so that is something to look forward to on television.

My parents' flight was cancelled (they were leaving for Africa today). They are spending the night in Columbus and going to try again tomorrow. I hope they make it as they are scheduled for a lot of really cool stuff when they get there.

Here is a video of the snowfall. As you can see, it is quite deep! Sorry about Bailey stopping to pee in the middle - I wasn't expecting that as I was filming!! Take care and stay warm!

Lazy Saturday!

We didn't have too much to do this weekend and since we worked so hard cleaning the basement last week, we decided to just rest this weekend. Kel and the dogs took the opportunity to take a little nap! Check them out!
When they woke up, Kel & I got ready and went to Columbus to meet her sister at Cap City Diner for dinner. Following dinner, we went to see "Vantage Point". If you haven't seen this movie, I would recommend it. It is very intense and contains one of the most exciting car chase scenes I have ever seen! It had us on the edges of our seats!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BAILEY!!

Today is Bailey's 10th birthday. How did he celebrate? By going to the doctor and having a cyst removed from under his eye. Poor baby! He is so groggy, he didn't even want to eat dinner, let alone enjoy some Frosty Paws! Maybe this weekend he will get to have a party.

We went to a Hospice fundraiser at The Natoma tonight and everyone kept telling us we needed to update the blog - so here you go!! We have been pretty busy lately. We are getting ready to put the house on the market so we spent last weekend cleaning the basement. It feels really good to get all of the junk out of there! It is amazing what you can collect over an 11-year span!! Now, we just need to get the mildew and spiderwebs cleaned up - I think Kel's allergies will be much improved once that project is done! It probably won't be ready to list until the Spring, though, because there is some outdoor painting and concrete work that needs to be done, as well. At least we have a plan, though, so we are making progress!

Well, it is time for bed. One of my favorite contestants got voted off American Idol tonight (17 year old, Alaina), so I am not very happy, but I am sure I will get over it. They still aren't as good as Kelly Clarkson anyway!! :)

Reba/Kelly Concert

Last night was so much fun!! As we previously told you, we went to see Reba McEntire & Kelly Clarkson in Indianapolis last night. The concert was AMAZING - I think it is one of the best I have ever seen! (Of course, I am a little biased since they are my 2 favorite singers!!) In any event, if you have ever watched the TV show, Reba, you know Barbra Jean - her real name is Melissa Peterman and she is also a standup comedienne and she opened for them. She was hysterical!

Our seats were in the 7th row - courtesy of the KC Fanclub!!

After Melissa was done, there was a brief intermission and then, the night really began! Kelly & Reba spent the next 2 hours on the stage - together!! I think they sang a total of 25 or more songs - mostly together, but sometimes, one would sing and the other would be a backup singer. I tried to get some good pics, but most of them are kinda blurry because our camera is not the best - I really need to splurge and get me a good one for future events. If I can ever get my video working, I will post the 1 video I took of "Fancy" - but for now, here are some of the pics.

Deb's Birthday/Super Bowl Sunday

Well, I haven't posted anything since we created our blog; so today's the day. Today is Deb's birthday: the big 36. She opened her gifts first thing this morning and I think she liked everything she got: a portable DVD player, Pink's Miz Understood CD and Reba's Love Revival CD. I usually can't go wrong if Reba or Kelly Clarkson is a gift item! We enjoyed our meal at the Surly Girl Saloon last night. I especially enjoyed the Surly Temple's as did Julie! She liked them so much that Kim had to drive us back to their house! :) It was packed by the time we left so get there early on a Saturday night. I'm looking forward to watching the Super Bowl tonight. And yes, I'm rooting for the Patriots. And yes it's because I like Tom Brady. Mike Vrabel, former Ohio State Buckeye also plays for the Patriots. No Buckeyes play for the Giants, so I'm going for the Pats. I think its going to be a lot closer than what everyone thinks. As you know, this weekend is the Kelly Clarkson and Reba concert in Indianapolis. Deb thinks she can sneak in our video recorder and get some footage. I'm not so sure and I just hope they don't confiscate our recorder! Anyway, if she's successful I'm sure she'll post the footage. By the way Yankee fans; spring training for pitchers and catchers starts in 12 days! GO YANKEES!
